MICHAEL PETER JOHNSON
After completing his dance training at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Michael Peter Johnson has worked for many choreographers and dance companies across Europe. Johnson is now a creative producer specialising and working across contemporary dance, fashion and art. His projects have been presented at The Place, Southbank Centre, V&A Museum and at the 56th Venice Biennale.
As an avid follower of fashion imagery and magazine culture, Johnson has developed an obsession with dance and fashion collaborations. In his pursuit of information and access to specific works, he decided to combine his two interests and in 2013 launched Mode & Motion across social media platforms online. Johnson travels across the world writing articles, coordinating special research projects and curating exhibitions related to dance and fashion.
He studied Fashion Journalism at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, London and was mentored by fashion journalist Paul Tierney.
As Creative Director of Mode & Motion Michael works to represent, reimagine and respond to the environments of dance and fashion. He collaborates across practices with other innovators such as independent photographers, dancers, philosophers, designers, curators and choreographers.
